The magician would call upon a Ghost from a 1,700-year-old painted urn found in Mexico. The ghost took the shape of a corn god, wearing a headdress of popcorn. The magical effect would take place without the use of heat thus adding deeper to the illusion. The employment of Ghosts as magic assistants was quite common in the 1930's and Franklin Love claimed their use as well privately.
